Friday – Southern Coastal Drive

This has been a cold Spring in NZ with very changeable weather. On our drive along the coast the sky frequently darkened and cleared within minutes.
The lighthouse at Nugget Point – now that was an exciting climb! At Invercargill we drove onto the Oreti Beach where Burt Munroe tested his “Indian” motorcycle. Eventually he became “the World’s Fastest Indian” (you have to see the movie of the same name).
In Bluff, this world famous signpost marks the Southern most place in New Zealand.
